Return Policy

This policy applies to all products purchased from Scharnick Solutions (Pty) Ltd t/a Scharnick Tech (scharnick.tech). We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction while maintaining fair and transparent practices.

1. Defective Products (CPA 6-Month Implied Warranty)

In terms of Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), all goods carry an implied warranty of 6 (six) months from the date of delivery. This implied warranty covers defects that were present at the time of sale. Please retain your proof of purchase (order confirmation email or invoice) as it is required for all warranty claims.

If a product is confirmed defective by our technical team within the 6-month CPA period, you may choose to:

Have the product repaired

Have the product replaced with the same or equivalent item

Receive a full refund of the purchase price

2. Manufacturer Warranty (Beyond 6 Months)

In addition to the 6-month CPA warranty, most products also carry a manufacturer's warranty (typically 12 months from the original date of manufacture or supplier invoice). Any warranty coverage beyond the initial 6-month CPA period is strictly limited to the remaining balance of the manufacturer's or supplier's original warranty period at the time of your claim.

During this extended warranty period, the remedy (repair, replacement or credit) will be at our discretion, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and assessment outcome. Please note that the manufacturer's warranty period begins when we purchase the product from our supplier, which may be before your purchase date.

3. Technical Assessment Requirement

All warranty claims are subject to a technical assessment by our team (and/or the manufacturer's authorised service centre) before any remedy is provided. No refunds, replacements or repairs will be issued until the assessment has been completed and the defect has been confirmed as a genuine manufacturing fault.

The warranty does not cover:

Damage caused by power surges, electrical outages, load shedding or lightning

Products that have been modified, misused, tampered with or subjected to unauthorised repair

Damage caused by incorrect firmware updates, software misconfiguration or user error

Normal wear and tear

4. Exchanges

We accept exchanges for products that do not match what was ordered, provided:

You notify us within 10 business days of delivery

The product is returned in its original condition and packaging

If a product is returned in a condition that is not suitable for resale (e.g. damaged packaging, missing accessories), we may charge a reasonable restocking fee.

5. Cancellations & Unwanted Products

In terms of Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), you have the right to cancel an order made through our website within 7 (seven) days of receiving the products, without giving any reason and without penalty. The products must be returned in their original, unopened packaging.

Outside of the 7-day ECTA cooling-off period, returns of unwanted products are at our discretion and may be subject to a handling fee of up to 15% of the product value. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to return an unwanted product.

6. Return Shipping

For all returns, the customer is responsible for shipping the product back to us at their own cost. Please use a trackable courier service and retain your proof of postage.

If our technical team confirms that the product is defective and covered under warranty, we will reimburse your reasonable return shipping costs along with processing the warranty claim (repair, replacement or refund). Proof of the return shipping cost (e.g. a courier receipt) must be provided to qualify for reimbursement.

7. Collection of Repaired or Replaced Items

Once a warranty claim has been processed and a collection notice has been issued, the customer must arrange collection or delivery within 30 days. We reserve the right to credit, ship or dispose of uncollected items after this period.

8. How to Initiate a Return
